FACIAL, CHEEK IMPLANTS – FACIAL FAT GRAFTS – RHINOPLASTY – NOSE SURGERY REVISION

A 31-year-old navigator from New Zealand presented in our Fort Lauderdale cosmetic surgery office requesting correction of a large nose. She wanted a smaller nose with a finer tip and removal of nose hump. She had difficulty breathing when she exercises or doing a demanding physical job on the boat.

Our evaluation revealed a large nose with moderate hump, wide nose tip, septum deviation and mildly enlarged turbinates (small bones inside the nose that are part of airway) (left).

With general anesthesia administered by a Board Certified Anesthesiologist, we performed external rhinoplasty (open nose surgery), removed hump, corrected deviated septum (septoplasty) and gently decreased size of turbinates (turbinectomy). Nose splint and internal nose tubes were placed to decrease nose swelling and obstruction/ swelling of nasal passages.  Nose internal splints (tubes) were removed the next day; external nose splint and sutures were removed in 7 days. This patient also had fat grafts injected into her cheeks, lips, and chin which further improved balance and harmony of her profile.
