NECK LIPECTOMY

A 52 years old Miami plastic surgery patient presented in our cosmetic surgery Fort Lauderdale office to discuss improvement of his neck and a heavy jawline. He wanted moderate improvement without too much surgery. He was a busy professional and he could not afford much of recovery time.

Clinical evaluation showed heavy neck, no visible jaw contours; there was no transition between his face and neck (left). Although full face neck lift would be a procedure of choice for this patient we decided to do a neck lipectomy using vacuum assisted liposuction to remove fat and contour patient neck.

A comparison of patient pre-operative (left) and postoperative images (right) clearly shows improvement in the neck and jaws contour. Patient still has deep neck fat present between neck muscles; this can be further trimmed and contoured only by means of open neck lift procedure as a part of face and neck lift surgery.
