NECK LIPOSUCTION – LIPECTOMY CASE #109

A 28-year-old Palm Beach cosmetic surgery patient presented in our office in Fort Lauderdale requesting correction of small chin. He claimed that “the whole family has full neck and small chin”. It turned out to be true; after his surgery turned out successful, we had an opportunity to meet his sister and his father, both of them with similar problems. They all ended up having the same surgery within several months.

A clinical exam revealed small chin and full neck. This is frequently seen as a family trait; deposits of fat in the neck on top and underneath neck muscles, low insertion of neck muscles that creates obtuse jaw-neck angle and a small chin (left). We discussed a chin enlargement with silicone chin implant which will increase chin projection and bring balance in his profile and aggressive neck liposuction.

Surgery was performed in general anesthesia in our AAAA Certified Surgery Center. Chin implant was placed through an incision placed inside of the mouth. Additional small incisions underneath the chin and below earlobes were used for neck lipectomy (liposuction).
