BROW LIFT CASE

A 46-years-old plastic surgery patient from Miami presented in our Fort Lauderdale cosmetic surgery office requesting improvement of his forehead and brows. He was concerned about droopy brows and heavy wrinkles which make him look “worried and sad”.

On clinical evaluation patient had a moderate forehead and brow ptosis and heavy frown line between brows (left). We suggested a forehead-brow lift using an endoscopic technique which will leave minimal scars hidden in the hairline.

In local anesthesia with sedation (a twilight anesthesia) supervised by an anesthesiologist we lifted brows for approximately 1 cm and removed a portion of muscles between his brows responsible for frowning. These muscles also pull brows downward; after releasing muscles under direct vision using endoscopic camera brows will be pulled in higher position due to action of opposing forehead muscles. Forehead and eyebrows are secured in a desired position with biodegradable plates fixed to the bone.

Before forehead lift surgery (left); 1.5 years after endoscopic brow lift (right). Notice a significant improvement in the appearance of eyes and eyelids; the entire face looks brighter and happier, eyes are more open and alive.  Patient did not have any eyelid surgery.

A fresh scar hidden in the hairline 6 months after endoscopic surgery (left). This scar will continue to improve and fade.

Patient is shown lifting brows 6 months after surgery; notice brow symmetry and loss of heavy wrinkles (frown lines) between eyebrows (right).
