This patient was not satisfied with the result of a face and neck lift performed 2 years before by another surgeon; she came to us for a second opinion consultation. Her major concerns were earlobe deformities (pixie ears) as well as an anterior neck deformity. She showed signs of excessive scarring with thick neck muscles underneath and scarring in subcutaneous tissue, which is occasionally seen after face lift and may significantly compromise the result of well performed face lift.

A pixie earlobe deformity is one of the most frequent complications of face and neck lift in particular when too much tension is placed on the skin.

Patient is shown before and after face/neck lift revision and correction of pixie ears. Unfortunately, her pattern of healing with thick scars of muscles and fat tissue underneath the skin, preclude fine neck/jaw contouring.
