CALF IMPLANTS
This 45-year-old patient from Miami came to our cosmetic surgery practice in Fort Lauderdale for consultation regarding calf augmentation with implants. He wanted improvement in definition of his calf muscles and “extra large” calf implants.
After a thorough clinical evaluation was completed we extensively discussed patient goals, results and possible complications of calf enlargement surgery.
His surgery was done in general anesthesia in our certified plastic surgery center in Ft. Lauderdale. Silicone calf implants were placed over the inner aspect of the calf to augment medial head of gastrocnemius muscles. Patient was allowed to walk very next day after surgery providing that he was pain free. Risk and signs of compartment syndrome were discussed with patient in multiple occasions.
Patient is shown before calf enlargement surgery and 6 months after calf augmentation with silicone implants. Notice well concealed scars in the popliteal crease which will continue to improve and fade.
