Patient who wants to have breast enlargement with silicone implants has to aware of the fact that breast augmentation will not create lift of the areola and nipple. This 48-year-old plastic surgery patient from Miami wanted to have breast augmentation but refused to have any scars around areola. After thorough breast evaluation we discussed the fact that regardless of the size of the implants (within the breast size she desired) we will not be able to produce lift of the nipples. (An extremely large breast implants, in her case 700 ml. and above, would produce nipple lift in her case).

After thorough preoperative evaluation and measurements we decided to put 395 ml. textured, moderate profile silicone gel implants. Surgery was done in general anesthesia in our office based accredited plastic surgery center.

Notice that slightly lower position of her nipples did not change after breast augmentation. A small, periareolar (doughnut) breast lift would have addressed this problem leaving a barely noticeable scar around areola.
