BREAST AUGMENTATION REPLACE OLD IMPLANTS 128

A 32-year-old cosmetic patient from Bahamas presents to our Ft. Lauderdale plastic surgery office requesting replacement of deflated saline implants. She had breast augmentation with saline implants done 4 years ago. Few months before she presented in our office patient noticed a change in size first on her left side then on the right breast. A month ago she noticed sharp edges of both implants protruding on the side of both breasts (left).

After clinical evaluation was completed we discussed removal of saline implants, partial removal of scar tissue around the implant (capsulectomy) and placement of silicone gel breast implants in a new pocket underneath the muscle.

Her surgery was performed in our Fort Lauderdale based AAAASF certified plastic surgery center, in general anesthesia. Patient was released to hotel accompanied with her boyfriend 1 hour after surgery. She left country 5 days after surgery.

Patient is shown before implant replacement breast augmentation surgery on the left and 12 years after breast augmentation and implant replacement surgery. In the meantime she gave birth to 2 children.

A round moderate profile, 405 ml large silicone gel  implants were placed underneath the muscle in sub-muscular pockets. There is no evidence of breast capsule contracture 12 years after replacement of breast implants. Patient wants to exchange her implants for larger (one cup size up) in the near future.
