JAW IMPLANT CASE #22

A 21-year-old cosmetic surgery West Palm Beach patient wanted to find weather we can do “anything to improve his weak lower jaw”. He wanted “a more square and stronger jaw”.

On preoperative evaluation in our cosmetic surgery office in Fort Lauderdale  he presented with signs of a weak, underdeveloped (hypoplastic) jaw angles which gave his face a triangular shape (left). We discussed placement of silicone jaw implants to enlarge the jaw and create a stronger, more masculine jaw and face.

His surgery was performed in general anesthesia in our office surgery center. It involved placement of silicone implants over the jaw’s angle.  Jaw implants were placed through incisions inside the mouth. His recovery was fast, painless with minimal swelling; patient was placed on liquid and soft diet and strict oral hygiene for 10 days until his incisions were healed.
