LOWER BODY LIFT
A 52-years-old Miami plastic surgery patient came to our cosmetic surgery center in Fort Lauderdale for consult regarding body contouring surgery. He lost 130 lbs. after gastric-by-pass surgery 2 years ago. His weight oscillates within a 10-15 lbs.
On clinical exam he demonstrated significant skin folds, sagging and deformity due to underlying scars from gastric-by-pass surgery. We discussed a staged approach to his body contouring surgery. First stage was to remove all redundant skin and fat around his waist (abdomen and back), remove deforming abdominal scar and tighten loose abdominal muscles. This will also include moderate body sculpting by means of liposuction in particular of upper abdomen and lower back areas.
His surgery was performed in hospital, in general anesthesia. Patient spent one night in the hospital and was discharged home next day.

The same patient is shown from a profile before body contouring surgery (left) and 3 years after two surgeries which included lower body lift, scar revision and two liposuction surgeries (right).
Patient is shown before first stage of body contouring surgery after massive weight loss (left) and 3 years after body contouring which included circumferential body lift, scar revisions, tummy tuck and 2 stages of aggressive liposculpting (liposuction, suction assisted lipectomy) of back and flanks (right). Notice barely visible scar above underweare which can be easily hidden with any type of underwear and improvement of lower and upper back and flanks.
