TUMMY TUCK – ABDOMINOPLASTY CASE #117
This 32-year old patient from Ft. Lauderdale area came to our plastic surgery office in Ft. Lauderdale requesting consult for a tummy tuck. She is a mother of two, in excellent shape, goes to gym regularly but despite of exercise she could not improve an excess of loose skin on her abdomen.
Clinical exam confirmed excellent muscle tone of the abdominal muscles but a poor quality, wrinkled skin that has no elasticity and ability to shrink. We discussed tummy tuck surgery as a way to remove most of the stretched skin.
Her surgery was done under general anesthesia in our certified office surgery center. Most of the loose stretched skin below the belly-button was removed and the belly-button was placed in a new position. Patient did not need any additional procedures like muscle tucking or liposuction, which are frequently performed as a part of abdominoplasty, because she had excellent muscles and no fat on her abdomen and flanks.
Before body shaping surgery by means of abdominoplasty (left) and 6 months after tummy tuck surgery (right).
