NIPPLE/AREOLA SURGERY CASE 343

This 23-year-old patient from Boca Raton came to our plastic surgery office in Fort Lauderdale to have enlargement of her partially retracted (inverted) left nipple. After clinical evaluation we discussed surgery for retracted nipple which will involve use of local tissue (flap) to build up inverted nipple and prevent retraction.

Surgery was done in local anesthesia in our Ft.Lauderdale plastic surgery office. Short milk ducts which cause nipple retraction were severed and dome of the nipple was filled with flap taken from the areola (marked with ink). Patient was informed that she will not be able to breast feed on that breast.

Patient is shown before surgery with partially retracted nipple and 10 days after surgery for inverted nipple.
