MOMMY MAKEOVER

A 27-year-old Miami patient came to our office for consultation about mommy make over surgery. She had one pregnancy 6 years ago and gained about 40 lbs. during that period. She finally reached the weight that she can easily maintain. Now she is looking for improvement of saggy breasts, loose abdomen and back skin, and possibly small enlargement of buttocks.

After thorough clinical evaluation in our Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery office we discussed body contouring procedures typical for mommy make over; breast lift vs. breast reduction, tummy tuck, liposuction of abdomen and back as well as buttock enlargement with fat grafts (known as a Brazilian butt lift). We decided to do these procedures in two surgical stages, 3-4 weeks apart. For the first stage we elected to do breast lift and liposuction of the back.

Surgery was done in our office- based accredited plastic surgery center. Breast lift and liposuction of the back were done in general anesthesia. Patient was discharged home after surgery. Her recovery was uneventful.

Second stage of mommy make over surgery was done 3 weeks later; it included tummy tuck, liposuction of abdomen and flanks and buttock augmentation with patient’s own fat harvested during liposuction. This was done in the same setting in general anesthesia. Patient was discharged home 1.5 hours after surgery. Her recovery was without any complications.
