A 52-year-old plastic surgery patient from South Florida came to our Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery center for a consultation regarding birth related chest deformity. He had this deformity reconstructed with a silicone custom made implant but due to location and mobility of the chest wall silicone implant failed.

After a thorough evaluation and extensive consultation about surgical option available for correction of such an extensive deformity we decided to proceed with correction using patient’s own tissue in form of fat grafts.

In general anesthesia we harvested a significant amount of fat tissue by means of liposuction from his abdomen and flanks. Fat tissue was then purified from blood, fatty acids, oils, injected fluids etc. and meticulously injected into area of deformity with fine cannulas. Patient was discharged home after surgery. His recovery was without complications.
