BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH SILICONE GEL IMPLANTS 45

25 years old paramedic from Boca Raton wanted breast augmentation with silicone gel implants. Patient  selected silicone gel implants, round, smooth, size 375 ml. Using lower periareolar incisions we placed gel implants into submuscular pockets, underneath the muscle.  Patient is shown 6 months after surgery with still visible scars along lower border of areola. In her age maturation, flattening and fading of scar may take 1-1.5 years. Patient is  encouraged to apply silicone gel/film (Scar Guard*) or silicone sheet fixed with paper tape over the scar for period of 6-8 months post-operatively. However, fulness of breast in upper and lower pole after augmentation with breast implant gives optical illusion as if nipple is lifted.
