TUMMY TUCK – ABDOMINOPLASTY CASE #99
A 59 year-old plastic surgery patient from Miami presented in our cosmetic surgery center in Ft. Lauderdale requesting improvement of her abdomen and thighs.

On clinical evaluation she demonstrated heavy folds of redundant skin and fat in abdominal area as well as folds and lipodystrophy (fat deposits) in the flanks and lower back (left). We discussed extensive body contouring abdominoplasty, a procedure that involves liposuction of excessive fat deposits in abdomen, flanks and thighs and excision and tightening the skin of abdomen, thighs and flanks.

We performed her surgery in our office based AAAA Certified Surgery Center in Fort Lauderdale in general anesthesia. Procedure included aggressive removal of fat tissue by means of suction assisted lipectomy and extensive abdominoplasty with partial thigh lift. Her postoperative course went uneventful.

Images on the left are before surgery; on the right patient is shown 1 year after surgery which included liposuction of thighs, abdomen, flanks and back and a tummy tuck with thigh lift (right). The side view demonstrates benefits of aggressive liposuction of back and flanks and extended abdominal scar by means of improving back and flanks skin folds and lifting outside (lateral) portion of thigh (right).
