Our office can assist you in making local arrangements with hotels and transportation, as well as an overnight registered nurse for patients requiring more intensive post-operative care. Dr. Potparic prefers that patients arrive at least one day prior to surgery. This will allow Dr. Potparic and his staff to meet with you in person and go over any questions or concerns that you may have.
You should allow sufficient time in South Florida for your recovery. Recovery time duration will depend on the extent of the surgery you have. Most patients are able to travel three to seven days following surgery.
Dr. Potparic is available to speak with you before your surgical procedure as many times as needed to be sure that you fully understand the risks and benefits of surgery. We require medical clearance by your primary care physician, blood work, as well as an EKG if you are 40 years or older a week before surgery.
Your recovery is an important part of your surgical procedure. Our registered nurse and patient coordinator will go over your pre-operative and post-operative instructions and guide you through the process. Dr. Potparic will see you the day after surgery, and then usually three to five days later. He will see you as many times as needed to allow for a recovery that’s as seamless as possible. If needed, a nurse or doctor’s visit at the patient’s residence can be arranged upon special request.
