FACIAL IMPLANTS

Facial implants are designed for reconstructive and rejuvenative purposes. Available in a wide range of shapes and sizes, they restore contour to the jaw, chin, and cheeks and create a more proportioned and balanced face.

The procedure consists of a small incision placed near the site of the implant placement, either in the skin crease or inside the mouth. The surgeon then creates a pocket over the bone that needs to be augmented, elevates the facial tissue, inserts an implant, and closes the incision. Facial implants are sometimes inserted at the same time as a facelift , rhinoplasty, or eyelid surgery.

FACIAL IMPLANTS: CHIN

Chin augmentation with implants is performed to improve your facial profile and correct a weak chin. An implant augments the jaw bone and creates a stronger and wider chin. It can even slightly lengthen your face.

Solid silicone rubber or other biocompatible material implant is inserted through a small incision in the crease underneath the chin or through an incision inside the mouth. The implant is secured in the pocket over the bone, and the surgeon closes the incisions. Tape dressing is applied after the surgery to control swelling and to keep the implant in the desired position.

FACIAL IMPLANTS: CHEEKS

Weak cheeks can make your face appear gaunt and create a tired, aged appearance under your eyes. The purpose of cheek augmentation is to add volume and restore fullness to your cheeks. It also creates an appearance of strong cheek bones in individuals who have never had them.

Multiple shapes and sizes of cheek implants are available to fit particular bone anatomy and achieve a desired shape. These facial implants are placed either through a mouth incision at the gum line or through a lower eyelid incision if eyelid surgery is performed simultaneously. The surgeon makes a pocket over the cheek bone, places the implant, secures it in the pocket, and closes the incisions.

FACIAL IMPLANTS: JAW

A weak and small lower jaw can be improved by adding volume and fullness in the form of jaw implants. This will create a wider, square, and ultimately more masculine appearance.

For these facial implants, the surgeon places small incisions inside the mouth over the jaw angle and creates a pocket over the part of the jaw that needs augmentation. The selected implant is placed in the tight pocket and additionally secured-if needed-then the incisions are closed.
