CHEMICAL PEELS CASE #333

A 43-years-old cosmetic patient from Fort Lauderdale came for consultation regarding chemical peel. She lived in South Florida for number of years and despite of all her efforts to protect her skin from the sun she had significant signs of sun damage.

We discussed TCA peel, an intermediate depth peel which we use for patients of skin types 1-4 (light to olive dark skin).

Her procedure was done without anesthesia, after skin was thoroughly washed with soap and water. Two coats of peeling agent were applied to the skin of face and one on neck. Minimal burning sensation is experienced in the course of application. Three to five days later skin is peeled off and replaced with fresh pink looking skin.  Aproximatelly 3-4 weeks later normal skin color was back.

Patient is shown before chemical peel and 6 months after. Notice glolighter skin without discoloration and
