FACE LIFT AND NECK LIFT
A 65-year-old female professional from Miami came into our office interested in cosmetic surgery and wanted “a full face makeover” before her retirement . About 15 years ago, she had a face lift and eyelid surgery done elsewhere. She wanted eye and nose surgery done in the same time as her face lift.
Preoperative evaluation in our Fort Lauderdale plastic surgery office demonstrated typical stigma of facial aging; full upper eyelids with folds, hollow lower eyelids with scleral show (white of the eye is visible above the rim of the lower eyelid), sagging cheeks, jowls, and full neck. She also had a crooked nose (left). Patient was in an excellent health condition. A medical clearance for this lengthy surgery was provided by the patient’s physician.
Her surgery was performed in the hospital in general anesthesia (in office based surgery center maximum time allowed for surgery is 7 hours; this surgery took 8 hours).
It included upper and lower eyelid surgery, nose surgery, face and neck lift and fat grafting of the face.
Before facial rejuvenation surgery (left) and 1 year after face and neck lift, upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), nose surgery (rhinoplasty), fat grafts to multiple areas of the face and “ smile surgery” (correction of sad looking lip corners) (right).
A profile view of the patient; before second facial surgery and first nose surgery (left); 1 year after secondary face and neck lift, secondary eyelid surgery (upper and lower blepharoplasty) and nose shaping surgery (rhinoplasty) (right).
Notice improvement in neck and jawline and, in particular, right earlobe improvement; a stretched earlobe after first face lift surgery (left) was corrected in her second surgery (right). Even with her hairstyle, a scar in front of the ear is almost invisible while the scar behind right ear is completely invisible because it is hidden in the crease behind the ear (right).
