CORRECTIVE NOSE SURGERY MULTI NOSE SURGERIES

This 36-year-old cosmetic surgery patient from Miami presented to our Fort Lauderdale office for a consult regarding her nose. She wanted improvement of the tip of the nose which appeared slightly deviated to the right and asymmetric; she also wanted “a more feminine looking nose”.

After extensive clinical evaluation of external and internal aspect of her nose we concluded that patient is a candidate for open rhinoplasty (nose shaping surgery) with cartilage tip graft.

In general anesthesia provided by a board certified anesthesiologist we performed open nose surgery which allowed us to make a subtle change in the tip of the nose and lower the nose dorsum without cutting the nasal bones. A small cartilage graft was harvested from inside the nose (nasal septum) and was used to shape and support the nose tip. She had nasal splint for 7 days; a mild swelling around the eyes was noticeable for 7-10 days. She returned to her full work schedule 10 days after nose surgery.

Images on the left show front view and profile of the patient before nose job surgery. Post-operative images on the right demonstrate improvements in the nose tip and nose profile 1 year after nose surgery. Notice gentle rotation of the nose tip and lowered nasal dorsum on the profile view. Refinement of the nose tip and correction of tip deviation is clearly visible on the front views. These small refinements in nose contour contributed to a creation of “feminine looking nose” which was this patient desire.
