LIP PROCEDURES CASE #352

This 27-years-old cosmetic surgery patient from Miami came to our plastic surgery office in Fort Lauderdale for correction of lip deformity. She had liquid silicone injected in her lip by a non-medical person 5 years ago for lip augmentation. After some time she developed large lump on her left upper lip that created visible deformity. She wanted to have this lump removed to have symmetric, natural lips.

After evaluation we discussed surgical removal of the lump and portion of the lip to create balanced, symmetric lips.

Surgery was done in local anesthesia in our office based plastic surgery center in Ft. Lauderdale. Redundant portion of the upper lip with scar tissue organized around injected silicone (silicone granuloma) was removed; scar was placed inside of the lip.

Patient is shown before removal of large lump, silicone granuloma, of the upper lip, and 8 months after removal of injected silicone and scar around it. Notice natural balance and symmetry of the lips.
