FACE LIFT AND NECK LIFT

A 50-year-old plastic surgery patient from Broward County came to our office for a consultation regarding facial rejuvenation surgery. She wanted “some improvement in face and neck area but nothing that would be obvious”.

Preoperative evaluation in our cosmetic surgery center in Ft. Lauderdale demonstrated early signs of facial aging with some laxity of neck muscles and skin (more visible in skinny necks like her), small jowls and loss of definition of lower jaw line that separates neck from face. She also had moderately sun damaged skin (left). We discussed face and neck lift surgery and chemical peel as a separate procedure to rejuvenate the skin.

Surgery was performed in general anesthesia and it consisted of face lift with SMAS plication (tightening of deep facial muscles and fascia underneath the skin) and tightening of neck muscles. Minimal amount of redundant skin was removed in front and behind the ears. Surgical scar was well hidden in the hair and creases around the ear.

Before neck and facelift surgery (left) and 1 year after rhinoplasty (face/neck lift) and chemical TCA peel done 6 weeks after facial surgery (right).
