NIPPLE-AREOLA SURGERY

This patient previously had a breast lift and breast augmentation surgery with large implants at another place. That surgery resulted in partial loss of right nipple/areola, extensive scarring and breast asymmetry. She came to our office to have right nipple reconstruction and correction of breast asymmetry.

Nipple reconstruction was performed in local anesthesia using nipple remnants and local flaps harvested from scarred areola. The nipple was purposefully made larger since we expected that pull of heavy breast will stretch it in time. Several months after nipple reconstruction patient had nipple/areola tattoo.  She also had breast asymmetry corrected as a separate procedure.
