NIPPLE/AREOLA SURGERY 147

This patient presented in our Ft. Lauderdale cosmetic surgery office for correction of partially retracted nipples. After clinical evaluation we found that this relatively mild deformity would be best treated with local tissue (flaps) taken from the areola.

In our office plastic surgery center using local anesthesia we harvested two small flaps from each side of the nipple, rolled them into nipple to provide a necessary bulk.

Images on the left demonstrate patient condition before surgery; notice two flaps marked on the side of the areola which will be used for nipple enlargement and correction of inverted portion of nipples. On the right patient is shown 3 months after inverted nipple correction and augmentation with local tissue. Notice scars on the side of the nipple where flaps were taken from. In time these scars become barely visible.
