BREAST AUGMENTATION CASE 346

This cosmetic patient from Miami came to our Fort Lauderdale practice requesting enlargement of her small and narrow breasts. Her bra size was 32 B. After a detailed clinical exam, we found that our patient had a major problem called narrow base breasts also known as a tubular or tuberous breasts. Major feature of this breast deformity is a narrow breast base and elongated, sausage-like breasts with wide and herniated areola. We proposed a breast augmentation with round gel implants with reconstruction of the breast envelope and reduction of areolas.

Surgery was done in general anesthesia in our plastic surgery center in Ft. Lauderdale. Round smooth silicone gel implants were placed underneath the muscle. The breast tissue and skin envelope were reshaped into a more conical shape. The areola size was significantly reduced to be proportional to the breast. This was all done through the scar around the areola.

Patient is shown before surgical correction of narrow, tuberous breasts and 1 year after correction involving breast augmentation with implants, breast reshaping, and reduction of large areola.
