What is the difference between the products I buy at the spa or department store and those I get at your office?
Over the counter products at the mall or those used in spa treatments may feel good, but have no scientifically proven value in reversing aging and sun damage of the skin. They may carry the same or similar name to those in our office, but they are not the same ingredients at the same strength. Extensive medical research has gone into developing proven skincare products. These include tretinoin products such as Retin-A and Renova, hydroquinone in a 4% compound, alpha hydroxy acids such as glycolic acid and lactic acid, and topical Vitamin C products in specific concentration and forms. Always look at the active ingredients.
How are your peels different from a facial?
Our customized chemical peels significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by peeling away the skin's top layers. Other benefits are tightening of the skin and lightening brown patches and other anomalies associated with sun damage. Peeling also diminishes enlarged pores, reduces and fades pregnancy mask and minimizes acne scars. You will see a major improvement in clarity, color and skin texture. Your skin type and color, ethnic background and age will be factors in determining which type of peel is right for you. All deep peels such as Phenol, Jessner and Obagi Blue Peel are performed by Dr. Potparic.
What kind of facials do you perform?
According to our Medical Aesthetician, “There is nothing like the
instant gratification that comes from a great facial. A regular facial
treatment every three to four weeks really helps maintain a glowing
complexion." There are a myriad of facials available. Through our
comprehensive and complimentary skin analysis, we can choose the one
most appropriate for you.
I am 45 and have never been exposed to any medically based skin care
