A well-toned body with smooth contours can be a sign of fitness achieved by healthy diet and exercise. But exercise can't always bring about results for individuals who have loose, sagging skin and uneven contours. Aging, sun damage, pregnancy, and significant fluctuations in weight, as well as genetic factors, may contribute to poor tissue elasticity and can result in a sagging abdomen, buttocks, and thighs. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Zoran Potparic helps his patients have the attractive body contours they want with body lift surgery in Fort Lauderdale.

There are several means of tightening these areas, whether with individual procedures such as a tummy tuck, an inner and outer thigh lift, and a buttock lift; or all together. When combined, these procedures are known as a torsoplasty, a circumferential torsoplasty, a belt lipectomy, or a circumferential body lift.
Dr. Zoran PotparicDr. Zoran Potparic is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has helped many plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery patients correct deformities and achieve desired results in the Fort Lauderdale and Miami area.
An inner thigh or groin lift can be a solo procedure, or part of an overall body lift.
Incision patterns for this particular lift vary based on the area or areas to be treated, the degree of correction needed, and patient and surgeon preference. One common technique used for a thigh lift places incisions in the groin. From there, they extend downward and run along the inner thigh down as far as the knee, if needed. The doctor will reshape and tighten the underlying tissue matrix, reduce fat tissue with liposuction, and reduce and re-drape skin, resulting in more proportionate and smoother body contours.
Some patients may qualify for a minimal incision medial thigh lift, which involves an incision only in the groin area. Your surgeon will determine what's appropriate, especially if this is part of a full body lift.
Another component of the body lift is an outer thigh lift.
Improving the contours of the outer thigh may require an incision extending from the groin and running around the hip. Through these incisions, the surgeon will tighten tissues for a smoother, better-toned lower body contour. Advanced techniques usually allow incisions to be placed in strategic locations where they can be hidden by most types of clothing and swimsuits. However, incisions may be extensive. Suction lipectomy to correct contour deformity is frequently employed in this body lift.
The smoother, tighter contouring that results from a thigh lift is apparent almost immediately, although the changes will initially be obscured by some swelling and bruising. You may be required to wear a compression garment for several weeks following your procedure to minimize swelling and support the tissues as they heal. Also, remember that there may be other areas healing as part of a full body lift.

The third piece of a body lift is the buttock reshaping and buttock lift, which can be done alone or combined with volume enhancement.
Patients who have full but saggy buttocks-who have a deep gluteal crease covered in part with sagging buttocks-will benefit from a buttock lift. This involves an incision that runs across the pelvis between the upper part of the buttock and the lower back. The doctor detaches skin and fat tissue on the upper half of buttocks from the underlying muscles and pulls up the entire buttock to fix it in a new position, then removes excess skin and fat tissue or uses it to create buttock augmentation.
Many patients will benefit from preserving this excess tissue-flap, which can then be placed into areas of the buttock that may benefit from more volume. The incision is placed in the same position as mentioned above, well hidden with any kind of underwear.
Patients who need significant volume enhancement will benefit from fat graft transfer. After liposculpture of the abdomen, waist, and upper and lower back-procedures that may be needed to create a balanced body/buttocks contour-the doctor may process harvested fat into fat grafts. Large amounts of these grafts may be placed in the buttocks to create the desired shape and size. A lifting procedure, flap augmentation, as well as fat grafting can be performed at the same time. Talk to your surgeon about combining this procedure with the other surgeries mentioned above for a full body lift.
The procedure known informally as a "Brazilian lift" is not known as such in plastic surgery literature. A buttock enlargement, which can also be part of a body lift procedure, can only safely be done with the patient's own fat tissue harvested over the course of liposuction. This tissue is processed into purified fat grafts and injected with a small canula into selected areas to achieve the desired volume and shape.
